“Like the lotus flower that is born out of mud, we must honor the darkest parts of ourselves and the most painful of our life’s experiences, because they are what allow us to birth our most beautiful self.”
– Debbie Ford
My Approach
Welcome! I want to take a second to congratulate you on taking your first step in looking into therapy options. Therapy can feel scary for some, especially if it is your first time. That being said, my approach first focuses on building trust and a safe space for you as we explore together what brought you in. Together we will understand your past life experiences and how they may still affect you in different ways. As we understand and identify the connections within all of these important and impactful areas of your life (past and present), we will work towards identifying your needs. Identifying your needs may look like understanding activating moments, unhealthy patterns, defenses, and many other kinds of challenges that can come from present day life and past childhood experiences. I understand that identifying your needs can come with a lot of feelings, some scary and some exciting, but I am here to create a compassionate and empathic space for us to learn more about your thoughts and emotions along the way.
